As LG officially released its Micro LED display, Samsung’s The Wall is also moving a step forward by breaking into the commercial display market in Japan. BusinessKorea reported that Japan’s largest display solution company NGC is offering Samsung’s The Wall series to its customers such as NHK and TV Asahi.

For the Korean company, it is a great achievement to penetrate the Japanese market as it had been a rather close environment favoring domestic suppliers. However, since other Japanese competitors like NEC and Sharp have yet released advanced LED display solutions, Samsung’ The Wall stands out from the competitors.

In fact, SONY, the Japan-based also released its Micro LED display products last year but it targets high-end residential market and the price is sky-high. It would cost more than US$5 million to build a 16K Micro LED display.

In addition to the B2B market, Samsung has also been working on developing Mini LED backlit TVs for the commercial market. The company is reportedly planning to ship more than 2 million units of Mini LED backlit TVs in 2021.
