The company WhiteOptics LLC in Newark has received $1.5 million from the U.S. Department of Energy to develop new technology: a highly reflective material that will improve efficiency, lifetime and cost for LED light fixtures.

This funding will create and-or save approximately five jobs immediately and has the potential to create 100 direct manufacturing jobs and hundreds of downstream installation-related jobs, depending on  the degree of commercialization success.
