The city’s Department of General Services selected LED lighting as part of the city’s overall effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
It is reported that the city of Durham joins a growing global community working to evaluate and deploy LED lighting technology across municipal infrastructure. It is in the process of retrofitting three City-owned parking garages with 573 new LED lighting fixtures using Cree LEDs.
