According to the Nikkei business daily, Sharp is about to team up with the housing equipment producer JS Group Corp to construct a 50-50 joint venture as early as this year to develop and sell energy-saving housing equipment.
The new company will make products like roofing with built-in solar cells and easy-to-install LED lighting fixtures. They may announce this deal this week.
