Last Thursday ,City of Winfield Electric Utility installed 12 new street lights on the 900 and 1000 blocks of Main Street, as part of an ongoing endeavor to "go green," cut costs and save energy.
This LED convertion represents a significant energy savings over Winfield's current, high-pressure sodium street lights by cutting energy usage by about 70 percent.
