OLED Glasses Brings Sight to the Blind

2013-11-08 11: 13

Assisted Vision had developed a pair of OLED glasses that can allow blind people to see again.

According to researchers, around 75 percent of registered blind people are still able to detect light. Assisted Vision takes advantage of this with their OLED glasses. Attached to either side of the glass are two cameras that collect and send data as images to the glass lenses, which are made up of LEDs. The picture is then rendered into a series of lights to allow the person to make out the object in front of them. The OLED lenses will show different colors to help the wearer distinguish whether an object is moving or not as well as distance.

The first pair of glasses is anticipated to be completed and available for retail at the end of 2014. For more informations, please refer to the video below.
