Apple's super-thin MacBook Air is the result of LED BLU

align="justify">Apple Computer Inc. has launched a 13.3-inch LED-BLU-based MacBook Air, which is only 0.76-inch (19 mm) thick on the hinge side, and 0.16-inch (4.1mm) for the opposite side.

Apple mentioned that this super-thin product is the result of LED BLU technology advances, and moreover, the mercury-free, arsenic-free notebook is more beneficial in power
consumption. Apple has reduced the processor package size by 60%, jointly with Intel Corp., the company claims. The new chip is the width of a dime (United States' coin of 10 cents, silver) and the thickness of a nickel (United States' coin of 5 cents, white copper). The panel used in Apple products has not been unveiled yet. The LED backlight-based panel is 0.6cm through 0.8cm thick.
