align="justify">Advanced Analogic Technology has introduced a new LED driver, the AAT1239-1.

The driver, a high frequency, high efficiency constant current boost converter, can drive up to ten white LEDs in a series. The driver is designed for backlight applications in PDAs, eDictionaries, Electronic Photo Frames and cellular handsets.

The company notes that the new driver IC uses its proprietary Simple Serial Control (S2CWire) single-wire interface. According to the company this interface drastically reduces the display flicker that occurs with many low frequency PWM control schemes.
