The manufacturing of continuous LED strips has presented various technical problems such as the size limitations of PCBs, processing and assembly equipment, etc., and transportation to the distribution or installation site.
To overcome this, various connection means are used to join smaller LED strips into a single long strip. However, the nature ordinary connection means has several limitations; it is a labour intensive process and has low reliability due to multiple connectors being used.
Such a connection also limits the current that can be passed through the strip thus limiting the overall length of the strip and leaves noticeable gaps between LEDs, spoiling the overall effect of the strip.
To combat this, Coolon’s engineers designed interlocking strips that can be joined to any length without compromising the lighting effect of the LED strip.
The solution works like a puzzle: On either side of each section of strip there is a complementary join which locks into the join of the adjacent strip, that is soldered together to create a robust and reliable connection.
The patented design of the connection join allows for no interruption in the completed LED strip, continuous flow of light.
