It's reported that Renaissance Lighting, a specialist in LED architectural lighting, will introduce the world's highest-quality commercially available 4-inch solid-state LED downlight at LightFair International from May 28-30. The company unveiled a 6-inch prototype of the downlight last year at LightFair International. Now the downlight can come in a 4-inch and a much brighter 6-inch production model. Renaissance Lighting's recessed downlight, offers more than 16 million color combinations without glare or visible LEDs. Visitors to the three-day-long LightFair product exhibition will see a demonstration of Renaissance Lighting's newest product offering at four locations within the Las Vegas Convention Center: Renaissance Lighting/Booth 1121; Crestron Electronics/Booth 1447; and Heatron/Booth 2273.

Renaissance Lighting notes that until the release of its LED downlights the highly touted LED lighting had not had a market impact commensurate with its potential for out performing or replacing other types of lighting. The ED04 downlight has a compact package. The company says that the small package greatly expands the design possibilities, especially those where ceiling congestion tends to restrict the use of larger fixtures. The company notes that in virtually any lighting scenario including: offices, conference rooms, corridors, and in particular where general illumination in commercial and industrial spaces is required, the ED04 downlight adapts seamlessly. The company also points out that it fits perfectly in confined spaces where smaller is better, and ED04 is easier to install from a weight standpoint.
