LED Signs Light Up Across Bahrain

Middle East Media Marketing (MEM) has introduced a large format dynamic LED digital signage network in Bahrain. The 5 locations include Bahrain International Airport, Adliya, Seef, Juffair and the Diplomatic Area.


"This is the first time that an LED advertising network has been offered to clients in the Middle East region," said Shaikh Ali bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of MEM. Advertisers have the opportunity to run their advertisements across all five screens simultaneously, with executions of between 5 and 60 seconds The network is updated through the internet and satellite connection.

First Leasing Bank in Bahrain provided the financing for the project. The LEDswere bought from BARCO. MEM has plans to increase the LED network further in Bahrain in partnership with Out-Of-Home media group.

There is a huge amount of competition between the different gulf states, and where one leads another is quick to follow. This move by Bahrain is likely to start a new race to install large scale LED displays across the rest of the region. The advertising market in the gulf region has grown by more than 10% a year for 10 years, and with populations and tourist trade rising - different digital signage iniatives have been popping up weekly.
