Lighthouse Technologies Demonstrates High-Resolution Panels and New Creative Products at InfoComm08

2008-06-20 13: 55

The United States' premier show for cutting-edge AV technology, InfoComm08 is Lighthouse Technologies' chosen venue to demonstrate its state-of-the-art, high-resolution R6-B and R4-S LED panels, as well as debut its latest LED display with the LEDScape® Tile T120850, a high-resolution tile display designed for any size or shape of site at Booth N6713 in the North Hall at Las Vegas Convention Center.

R6-B is a 6mm pixel pitch, black-faced panel that brings a new dimension to the superb picture quality of Lighthouse LED screens with its 2,000 nits of brightness, enabling it to cope well with ambient light levels. Other features include a horizontal viewing angle of 140 (+70/-70) and vertical viewing angle of 90 (+40/-50), and it employs the single king pin for fast rigging, making it ideal for the indoor rental, exhibition and conference markets.

"Lighthouse understands the importance of designing a superior LED panel that can easily be installed and integrated at different venues and events for our clients," said Peter Chan, general manager of Lighthouse. "We have designed a superfine resolution of R4-B and R6-B series with Lighthouse's new 3-in-1 black Surface Mount Device (SMD) LED, which offers a much better contrast level and visual performance — overall, providing the best possible return on investment for customers."

In addition, the black casing of the SMD provides a truer black level within the displayed image and a contrast ratio of 3,300:1 and 3,800:1, respectively. And the panels are able to run at lower temperatures, thereby consuming less power.

Series P4-B and P6-B permanent installation panels are ideal for main focal point applications such as branded retail outlets. In addition, these panels offer the added benefit of low noise levels and a high contrast ratio while producing extremely detailed content and striking images.

R4-S, meanwhile, is a standard version LED screen, designed for the indoor rental market. It offers 2,000 nits of brightness, wide viewing angles and M4 color uniformity control. For permanent installation, the P4-S and P6-S panels provide the same benefits and are perfectly suited to applications such as indoor exhibitions and a wide variety of retail environments.

"Lighthouse makes impressive, high-quality LED screens," said Andrew Gumper, president of AG Light and Sound, LED suppliers for "NBC Sunday Night Football." "During the season, the Lighthouse R4 screen was one of the only products that could stand up to the rigorous tour schedule, and we could always count on it to look amazing on a weekly HD broadcast. Superior quality and full support from Lighthouse Technologies made it our product of choice."

Finally, the LEDScape® Tile T120850 is a new departure from Lighthouse's traditional LED display panels, combining the concept of LED technology and its applications to a diverse array of "landscapes," producing an innovative display solution for architectural projects. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, the tiles feature a 12mm pixel pitch and 8 x 8 pixels per Intelligent Module (IM).
With 5,000 nits of brightness from 3-in-1 SMD LEDs and a viewing angle of 140 degrees, users can produce creative display designs for any size or shape of site.

"We are excited to offer a whole new visual dimension to large-scale events, including corporate and entertainment venues with LEDScape® Tile," said Ed Whitaker, senior sales manager of the U.S. market.
"This new lighting fixture is extremely cost effective due to its modular nature and its ability to seamlessly bring together the world of lighting and video production, allowing abstract designs, blocks of color and large fixed or animated illustrations to be displayed for any size or shape."
