Recently, HessAmerica, a subsidiary of Hess AG of Germany, has introduced a large-scale light column - Sierra 6500. The company says Sierra 6500 is a large-scale illuminating column for outdoor area lighting. Standing twenty-one feet in height and ten inches in diameter, the column provides rich colored illumination from LEDs.

Sierra 6500 is well suited for use as an identifying beacon in entertainment or recreational complexes; upscale retail and hospitality installations; corporate campuses and educational institutions where accenting, branding, or zonal definition is desired.

Sierra 6500 immediately impresses with its towering column-based form. The cylindrical column and its illumination embody highly contemporary aesthetics that add structure to open spaces, complementing buildings or other architecture.

During daylight, columns add mass to the background, while contributing to the structure of outdoor spaces. At night, Sierra creates visual excitement through static- or color changing- LED illumination. Sierra 6500 light column can be specified with ultra-long-life LEDs in blue, red, green, amber, white, or RGB. The RGB model with a pre-programmed primary controller provides synchronized color-sequencing or dynamically changing scenes through DMX control capability. Light is diffused evenly along the length of the lens through direct and indirect optical internal optics. Ceramic metal halide source is also available.

The housing for Sierra 6500 column is extruded aluminum. Overall height is twenty-one feet with a diameter of ten inches. A flush hand-hole cover has tamper-resistant locking device. Lens is impact-resistant matte acrylic. Mounting options include internal flange with anchor bolts or external flange with anchor bolts and base cover. Standard colors are finely textured matte silver grey metallic, or graphite grey.
