Aledia, a pioneer in next-generation microLED technology, announced today the commercial availability of FlexiNova, its patented high-voltage microLED platform designed to unlock scalable, energy-efficient Direct-View microLED displays for global markets.
mercial availability of FlexiNova, its patented high-voltage microLED platform designed to unlock scalable, energy-efficient Direct-View microLED displays for global markets.
This product release marks a world-first industrial milestone: the successful manufacturing of 3D Nanowire based microLEDs operating at 6V, with an ultra-compact 15 µm × 30 µm single body chip size, manufactured on 200 mm silicon wafers.
This breakthrough, obtained with the support of our long-lasting partner CEA-Leti and France 2030 program, confirms the readiness of silicon-based microLED manufacturing for volume production and opens the path to a full portfolio development at 6 and 9V operation with a constant efficiency for chip sizes down to 3.5 µm.
Patented High-Voltage Architecture Designed for Mass Production
FlexiNova is powered by Aledia’s proprietary GaN Nanowire-on-Silicon technology, protected by a strong international patent portfolio spanning:
- Nanowire based device architectures
- Single body High-voltage blue MicroLED designs (6V / 9V and beyond)
- Integration on 200 mm silicon wafer
- Standard Silicon manufacturing processes
- High efficiency microLEDs for any chip size down to 3.5 µm
High-voltage operation microLED operation is a key industry enabler for:
- Reduced power consumption
- Improved system-level efficiency
- Simplified and reliable TFT backplane designs
These advantages are critical to scale microLED displays from premium to mainstream consumer and commercial applications.
