In terms of actual new features across all models, calibrated picture modes are the big deal this year with Netflix Adaptive Calibrated mode and a new Prime Video calibrated mode featuring across all the TVs with Google OS still the OS of choice.

The new Sony Bravia 9 is 325% brighter than the X95L which did a fantastic job at providing OLED like blacks without any blooming, but at 4,000 nits, this is set to be an absolute show stopping TV that will look phenomenal. It will come in 65-Inch, 75-inch and 85-inch but we’re still waiting for Australian pricing.
Next up is the Bravia 8 which is a regular OLED panel. It’s 31% thinner than last year’s A80L and the bezels have also been slimmed by 29% and it’ll have all the same bells and whistles as previous years with the likes of automatic PS5 picture optimisation and a 120hz panel.
The Bravia 7 is also a Mini LED panel which is said to be the equvelent of the X95L and likely the one that most everyday TV watchers and gamers pick up with its 120hz refresh rate, and there’s also the Bravia 3 which has a 60hz LED panel.
As far as speakers go, there’s a new quad wireless speaker system that looks quite interesting visually and a range of soundbars that will follow a similar naming convention to the TVs with the Bravia Theatre 9 (13 speakers) and Bravia Theater Bar 8 (11) providing surround sound goodness.
We’ll let you know when we have Australian pricing and release dates for these TVs. It’s still likely that we’ll see a more premium QD-OLED later in the year, but for now Mini LED is supreme.
