Taiwan has officially entered a super-aged society, with an increasing demand for elderly care. According to projections by the National Development Council, by 2025, the population aged 65 and older in Taiwan will exceed 20%, with more than 30% of seniors at risk of cognitive decline. A study by IEK Research indicates that the global assistive device market was valued at approximately $41 billion in 2018 and is expected to grow to $57.1 billion by 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of 4.8%. While North America and Europe currently dominate the smart medical assistive device market, Asia is experiencing the fastest growth.

Innolux Corporation has partnered with LTPA Solution to develop the 85-inch "TAKA Smart Touch Table," leveraging digital technology to help seniors maintain cognitive function and social engagement. This innovative product was honored today at the Taiwan Assistive Devices & Long-Term Care Exhibition, receiving the 2025 Taiwan Long-Term Care Rental Assistive Device Excellence Award in the "Wellness & Rehabilitation" category. James Yang, President of Innolux, emphasized that the key to smart assistive technology innovation is enabling seniors to engage their minds, hands, and entire bodies through technology.

Innolux's 85-inch 4K anti-reflective Smart Touch Table is designed with cutting-edge display technology, offering low reflection, high contrast, and a comfortable viewing experience with minimal eye strain. The multi-touch table accommodates 4-6 users simultaneously and comes preloaded with interactive games targeting cognitive skills such as reaction speed, memory, logical thinking, and concentration, making it specifically designed for dementia training. Additionally, it integrates a personalized cognitive assessment scale developed by LTPA Solution, enabling the collection of quantifiable and trackable cognitive training data for seniors, providing professional care institutions with a more precise management tool.

The product has already been successfully implemented in Show Chwan Healthcare System and several day-care centers, with results showing a 30% increase in senior engagement. After six months of interactive touch training, some seniors with mild cognitive impairment demonstrated significant improvements in hand-eye coordination and short-term memory tests. These findings highlight the role of smart assistive technology in enhancing the digital transformation of elderly care facilities and day-care centers.

The Taiwan Assistive Devices & Long-Term Care Exhibition is the largest international event of its kind in Taiwan, showcasing hardware and software solutions tailored to elderly care needs. It also plays a crucial role in advancing smart technology applications in eldercare. Innolux remains committed to integrating cutting-edge technology into the long-term care sector, driving the value of precision elderly care, and ensuring that every senior receives the best possible care at the right time.
